Mmm...can you say delicious?! We always walk past this Indian restaurant but never dined there and this was our first time. It was everything you could ask for when eating Indian food. The copper place holder is a nice touch to the table setting. Bawarchi has a quiet and very relaxing atmosphere. Our waiter Roy was always close by and checking in to see if we are enjoying our meal in a caring manner. The starters are always a nice blend of spices on your palate. I especially like the tamarind sauce; you need a little sweet to balance out the spicy.
Samosas with potato and peas, it is especially delicious with the tamarind sauce.
Cucumber raita, whipped yogurt with shredded cucumber tomatoes. This is a necessity for me whenever eating Indian food, not only because I need something to cool down my mouth but because I like combination of the mild flavor of the yogurt with my rice.
Garlic nan
Saag Paneer, cubes of homemade cottage cheese simmered in freshly ground spinach
Boti Kebab Masala, cubes of lamb cooked in tandoor and simmered in onion sauce
Peas Pulao, basmati rice cooked with green peas
Kheer, authentic homemade rice pudding. This is a different twist to the traditional American rice pudding that I am used to and I like it. The difference is that Kheer has pistachio and cardamom.
I love Indian food! All the different blends of spices make each dish different and very flavorful.
